Family Night at Neighborhood
Family Night @ Neighborhood Church Starts September 8th!

Family Dinner will be served from 5:15-6:20pm. We will be serving Pulled Pork Sandwiches!

Please sign up on your Communication Card in your bulletin Sunday morning. Dinners will be $2.50 for individuals and $10.00 for families of four or more.

Newcomer's Lunch
Our next Newcomer's Lunch is Sunday, Sept. 12 at 12pm in Rm 1. Sign up at the Connecting Center.

New Ladies Bible Studies
Beginning Monday, September 13; 6:30pm at Neighborhood Church in Room 15. "Fencewalker: Where Does Your Heart Lie?" based on the book of Jonah.

New Neighborhood University Classes
Neighborhood University’s short-term classes are designed to positively affect your daily life and walk with God; training and equipping every believer in mind, body, soul and strength. Here are some new classes starting this month:

E3 Class on Sunday Mornings - beginning Sept. 19 in Rm 16 @ 10:30am
Join us as we gather together to encounter God, encourage believers in Christ and engage our community in love.  Our mission is to dialogue, learn and work together helping each other navigate the tensions of following Jesus in a post-Christian culture. Facilitated by Doug Ruby. FREE CLASS. Sign up at the Connecting Center.

Financial Peace - Mondays - beginning Sept. 13 in Rm 1 @ 6:30pm
Each of the 13 lessons deals with a different topic that will change the way you think about personal finance. Dave teaches about how to save money, live on a budget, communicate about money, eliminate debt, find bargains, and experience the joy of giving. Cost is $100, First Lesson is Free. Dealing w/Difficult People Seminar - Sept. 24 6-9pm & Sept. 25 10am-3pm in Room 1.
Do the difficult people in your life try your patience, rob your peace of mind and hinder your ability to be productive? The ability to manage and resolve negative emotions has been termed “Emotional  Intelligence.” If you would like to be able to diffuse the hurt, frustration and anger you feel when dealing with a difficult person or be able to effectively confront and resolve the issues that surface, this course is for you. Instructor: Jennie Jordan. Cost:  $50

GriefShare
GriefShare is starting September 7 at 9:30 AM in Room 16.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.

Are you interested in leading an evening session of GriefShare? If you have a passion for helping people through difficult times of grief, this may be for you. Contact Steve Moody at the church office if you are interested in more information about this ministry opportunity.

Beth Moore Simulcast
Neighborhood Church is hosting the One-Day Living Proof Live Simulcast with Beth Moore and worship leader Travis Cottrell on Saturday, September 18, 2010. The event is 9:30am-4pm with doors opening at 9am. Price for a ticket is $10 and includes lunch from Baja Fresh. Women of all ages, college, high school and jr high girls are encouraged to attend to hear a special message from Beth Moore. Tickets will be available on Sundays at the Connecting Center or in the church office during the week, (559) 732-9107. For more information, email Sue Singleton at rod-sue@sbcglobal.net. There are a limited number of tickets, so don't put off getting yours.

Love for Noah
Roxanna Garcia is part of our church family and she is raising support for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. She is part of a team in honor of her grandson, Noah, who has a brain tumor. If you would like to support her team, please contact her or go to www.relayforlife.org/visaliaca and choose team "Love for Noah."

Community Life

The Fall Session of Life Groups Begins September 8!
If you are not in a Life Group, there is still time. Several existing groups still have room for you!

Life Group Launch is coming!
When? Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 6:30pm in Room 13 and Thursday, Sept. 9 in Room 9.
Who? Adults looking to connect with others.
How? Call the church office, go online, or come to the Connecting Center on Sunday.
Remember: We were never meant to live the Christian life alone!!

3 ways to sign up for a Life Group:

  1. Go online or to the Connecting Center to sign up for an existing group.
  2. Gather a group of people with whom you would like to have a Life Group and sign up as a group.  Help will be provided to assist you in getting started.
  3. Sign up for Life Group Launch for either Wednesday or Thursday night. This is a 3-week short-term Life Group experience where you will have the opportunity to meet others who are also interested in being part of a group.
