The Right Book
This week I had the joy of hearing 5 inmates start a relationship with Jesus. One of those inmates first asked me if I could get them a Qur'an. As chaplains we have to try to meet the religious request of all inmates. It is not my favorite joy to give out a Qur'an, but if we have them and if there’s a request, I will do it. I asked this inmate if he were a Muslim, and he said no. I asked him why he wanted a Qur'an and he said he felt lost and maybe that would help. Talk about an open door. I said would you be open to hearing about what I believe is a way to be found, and he said yes. That inmate on Feb.4, at 4:30pm was FOUND. By the way, take a guess at what book I did leave with that inmate, and it was not the Qur'an.
